Encina

Photos taken around my home with my beloved Fujifilm X100F during the confinement period in Spain due to the Corona virus. This means only going out for the pure necessities, like buying food. I live in Spain. As I am currently renovating my house, for me personally this doesn't have the impact as it has for many other people who really feel they temporarily have lost their freedom. Anyway, normally, when taking photos, I tend to go out somewhere. This very strange situation however challenges me to discover objects around me.

In my garden, there's a pile of firewood. It's Holm Oak to be precise. "Steeneik" in Dutch and "Encina" in Spanish. It's quite heavy and burns very quietly and reasonably long. The matte color and the structure is great. Almost a shame to burn. But thanks to the appearance and the warmth it gives, I'm able to enjoy it twice.
